Weil ich
gestern Abend todmüde ins Bett fiel, schrieb ich heute Morgen den Post von
gestern und um 10:30 Uhr ging es dann zum Frühstück… danach relaxen wir im
Whirlpool und genossen den langen Morgen (weil wir bis 14 Uhr im Zimmer sein konnten!)
mit allgemeiner Renovation… ; )
Because I fell into bed very tired last night, I wrote the post of yesterday this morning and went for breakfast at 10:30 am… thereafter we relaxed in the whirlpool and enjoyed the long morning (we could keep our room until 2 pm!) with general renovations… ; )

Um 14 Uhr
ging es dann weiter der Südostküste entlang von einem Aussichtpunkt (miradouro)
zum andern, und weil es Sonntag war, waren fast alle belegt mit Wochenendpicknickern!
At 2 pm we hit the road along the south east coast from one view point (miradouro) to the next, and because it was Sunday, each and every one was full of weekend picnickers!

Um 16 Uhr
machten wir einen Espressostop in einem Café in Nordeste an der Nortostköste
(wie der Name sagt!). Danach ging es weiter der kurvenreichen Strasse der
Nordostküste entlang an vielen Aussichtspunkten mehr vorbei und durch die 2
einzigen Teeplantagen Europas bis nach Rabo de Peixe, wo wir um 18 Uhr im
Quinta de Santana (www.qsantana.com), einem stilvollen Landhaus, für eine Nacht
eincheckten.
At 4 pm we made an espresso stop in a café in Nordeste on the north east coast (the name tells you!). Thereafter we drove along the curvy roads along the north east coast passing lots of view points and through the 2 only tea plantations of Europe to Rabo de Peixe, where we checked in for a night at the Quinta de Santana (www.qsantana.com), and old stylish cottage, around 6 pm.

Zu Fuss machten
wir uns um 20 Uhr auf an den Hafen um im einzigen Restaurant etwas essen zu
gehen, das war aber (glücklicherweise?) geschlossen! So fuhren wir mit dem Auto
5 Minuten nach Ribeira Grande, der zweitgrössten Stadt der Insel, an die Praia
Santa Barbara und genossen unseren ersten Sonnenuntergang und einen frisch
gegrillten Fisch im Restaurant Tukatula…

Around 8 pm we took the road on foot to the harbour to the only
restaurant to have dinner, but it was (fortunately?) closed! That’s why we
drove 5 minutes to Ribeira Grande, the second biggest town of the island, to
the Praia Santa Barbara, where we enjoyed our first sunset and a very tasty
grilled fish at the restaurant Tukatula…
