Heute
Morgen ging ich um 8 Uhr joggen und schwitzte meine Horrornacht mit Mücken und
Albträumen raus… danach schwamm ich einige Runden im Pool bevor ich ein
ausgiebiges Frühstück genoss! Es war wieder einmal Packen angesagt, am Mittag
checkten wir aus und fuhren darauf an den Hafen um die Hellenic Wind zu
begrüssen. Wir hatten auf der Überfahrt nach Santa Maria abgemacht, dass wir
heute Nachmittag mit einigen der Crew an den Strand von Praia Formosa fahren
würden. Bis die Jungs an Bord Mittag gegessen hatten, genossen wir einen
Espresso und das tolle Wetter in ‘unserer‘ Hafenbeiz…
Already at 8 am I went for a run to sweat out my horror night because of mosquitoes and night mares… thereafter I swam some rounds in the pool before I went for an extensive breakfast! Today once again packing was on our list, at noon we checked out and drove to the harbour to welcome the Hellenic Wind. On the navigation to Santa Maria we had agreed upon to meet some of the crew to go to the beach of Praia Formosa this afternoon. Until the boys had finished their lunch on board, we enjoyed an espresso and the terrific weather in ‘our’harbour restaurant…

Apostolos
und Yannis fuhren mit ihrem griechischen Alfa vor und wir hinterher nach Praia.
Dort war es eher bedeckt als sonnig – so fingen wir auch garantiert keinen
Sonnenbrand ein! ; ) Der Nachmittag verging im Nu am Strand und in der Beach
Bar, wo nach und nach viele der Besatzung eintrafen!
Apostolos und Yannis drove up with their Greek Alfa and we followed them to Praia. There it was more overcast than sunny – for sure we didn’t get sun burnt like this! ; ) The afternoon at the beach and Beach Bar passed by very fast, and one by one of the crew members dropped in!

Um 17:30
Uhr verabschiedeten wir uns bis heute Abend (die Hellenic Wind wird etwas nach
22 Uhr in Ponta Delgada eintreffen!), wir tankten unseren Mietwagen auf und
fuhren an den Flughafen. Natürlich hatten wir beide viel zu viel Übergepäck,
aber die Abfertigung sah das locker und liess alles durchgehen… Pünktlich um 19:35 Uhr starteten
wir mit der SATA in Santa Maria und landeten 20 Minuten später in Ponta
Delgada, Sao Miguel. Wir schnappten uns ein Taxi und fuhren zum Hotel Vila Nova

ganz in der Näher der Marina. Nachdem wir unsere Koffer deponiert hatten, schlenderten wir der Marina entlang und setzten uns schliesslich zu einem späten Abendessen ins Restaurant O Marineiro. Später gesellten sich Yannis und Apostolos für einen Drink hinzu, die danach weiter in den Ausgang gingen, wir waren aber einfach zu müde dafür...

At half past 5 pm we said goodbye to each other and agreed upon to meet
again tonight (the Hellenic Wind will arrive at Ponta Delgada shortly after 10
pm!), we fuelled up our rented car and drove to the airport. Of course we both had
lots of excess baggage but the lady at the drop off took it easy and let it all
go through… At 7:35 pm on time we took off and 20 minutes later we landed in
Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel. We took a cab and drove to the Hotel Vila Nova (http://uk.hoteisplatano.com/vilanova/index.php) near the Marina. After having put our luggage in our room, we strolled along the Marina and finally sat down at the restaurant O Marineiro to have a late dinner. Later Yannis and Apostolos joined us for a drink and went to party therafter, we just were too tired for it...
